Metro Milwaukee's rich and diverse visual arts scene features creative and talented painters, sculptors, photographers and other design mediums. Home to the world-renowned, Calatrava-designed Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, and its surrounding communities, offers a variety of stunning spaces, including museums and galleries, in which to experience some of the finest art in the world. SWAG is dedicated to providing a platform for visual artists and art spaces throughout the area, keeping the community fully engaged and informed Pamela AndersonKnown for her bold colorful strokes and gestural movement, Pamela Anderson's work is Abstract Expressionist with a modern dimension. She is currently an Artist in Residence at Plaid Tuba in the Historic Third Ward of Milwaukee. She was selected as one of the Pfister finalists for the Pfister Artist in Residence at the historic Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2011 and 2012.
In 2003 her passion to paint and create was reignited. She pursued painting in the Abstract Expressionist Style. Pamela has studied with Terrence Coffman at Center Avenue Studio, Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. She has exhibited in numerous shows locally and nationally. Her work can be seen in corporate and private collections. Her work is currently represented at Woodwalk Gallery, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin and at Pez Gordo Gallery, Jose del Cabo, Mexico. As an exhibiting artist and strong advocate of the arts, Pamela is active in local and state organizations including, Milwaukee Artist Resource Network (MARN) where she holds the Executive Position of President. Pamela is the founder of the 10 year old Westside Artwalk, a local art production which has grown into a two day premier event. Melissa MusanteMelissa Musante is a multi-disciplinary artist with a deep commitment to building the creative economy across South Eastern Wisconsin. With a long history of service to Milwaukee’s arts community in both volunteer and paid roles. The former Executive Director of the Milwaukee Artist Resource Network has also served as Film Wisconsin’s Associate director and was instrumental to important tax incentive legislation to promote the film and television industry. Additionally she was the National Outreach Sales Manager for Utrecht Art Supplies from 2003-2006. During this time she had the opportunity to visit many of the country’s other arts centers. She learned during those visits that Milwaukee’s art scene highly respected across the country and Milwaukee artists are truly producing some of the best work in the country.
Today she continues this commitment to the creative sector as “The Creative Realtor” helping people working in the arts realize home ownership as a path to a more sustainable future. Musante graduated cum laude from the Peck School of the Arts with a BFA focusing in Film & Theatre. As a visual artist she has shown her work at galleries throughout the Milwaukee area. Melissa is also an independent filmmaker whose short films have graced the screens of festivals across the country. |
