Based on Victor Hugo’s novel Les Misérables, the musical introduces a new generation to the struggle and strife of 19th century France. After 19 years of toil and labor, for the meager crime of stealing a loaf of bread, Jean Valjean (Ross Spadaro) not only changes his ways to become an honest man, but becomes the mayor of a town, and adoptive father to young Cosette (Jenna Weigand and Samantha Kent) after rescuing her mother Fantine (Gabrielle Laske) from destitute. During this time, Valjean is hunted by the ruthless Javert (Drew Spadaro) who wishes to see him pay for the violation of his parole. At the same time, young revolutionaries are ready to take Paris by force for the ideals of freedom and justice led by Enjolras (Nicholas Shinners) and Marius (Zachary Olson). A bloody revolution is staged and the lives of those involved are drastically changed.
