All Rights are Reserved by the Artist (2013) | John Lennon said "I'm an artist, and if you give me a tuba I'll bring you something out of it." Well, I'm no John Lennon but I am an artist and I did play tuba in high school so I guess this quote applies to me as well. My name, Kevin Tukey, yes, turkey without the r. I draw, I paint I sketch frantically. With no sense of purpose or real direction I am consciously aware of. My work is a never ending jigsaw puzzle. There is no right way to start, but progressively a concept and image forms from the scattered pieces. My formal arts training is limited at best. I've never taken an arts class past middle school. My classroom is the lessons of life. It's joys, passions, hardships, successes and failures. Every experience can become an idea that must be expressed. Wake up, do you decide to hit that snooze button and silence that tortuous, and oh so persistent alarm on your cell phone, entering back into dreamland for ten more precious minutes. Or do you bolt upright and start your day, putting one foot in front of the other, eager to take on the days experiences. Both are choices, both lead to ideas, and with every idea comes that inspirational spark I anxiously wait for and am ready and willing to try to put my twist, my perspective, my little mark on this great gift of the art world. What am I? I am an artist, I see, I hear, I observe, I consume and I produce. |

Very astute, insightful, aware and all the other words I couldn't think of that beautifully describes your co-artistry.
