Contact: Lakeside Players Inc.: [email protected] Renovation efforts are ongoing at the Rhode Center for the Arts in Downtown Kenosha. Lakeside Players, Inc., the non-profit organization that owns and operates the historic theater, is hosting its annual Big Clean event this Saturday, July 20th. Event coordinators Ann Greco and Oliver Johnson are asking the community to come down between 9:00am and 3:00pm to join in the efforts. Many people do not have access to the backstage areas of this massive theater, which is located at 514-56th Street in downtown Kenosha. Several rooms and areas of the center have not been fully utilized in as many as 20 years. This is a great opportunity for community members to explore the space while lending a helping hand to the project. Efforts to clean out and clean up the theater are part of the continuing commitment to expand their artistic endeavors and to provide the community with more opportunities for involvement in the performing arts. Kenosha businesses are keeping volunteers refreshed throughout the day with coffee, cinnamon rolls, fruit, pizzas, salads, lemonade and more. There will also be a one-day sale for Season Ticket packages for those who participate in the Big Clean. |
