This fall Rochelle Melander, a Milwaukee-area author and writing coach, will be facilitating nine Dream Keeper Writing Workshop residencies at branches of the Milwaukee Public Library. These four-day themed writing workshops will offer students ages 8-14 an opportunity to flex their creative muscles, hone their writing skills, and tie it all together with art. Students can take a single on-hour workshop or attend for all four days. All workshops are free and open to the public. She is the author of ten books, including the National Novel Writing Month guide--Write-A-Thon: Write Your Book in 26 Days (and Live to Tell About It) Rochelle speaks widely on publishing and the power of writing to transform lives. She is a graduate of the National Writing Project Summer Writing Institute and in 2006 was awarded a writing fellowship by the Louisville Institute, part of the Lilly Foundation. Rochelle Melander is a member of the International Coach Federation and the American Society for Journalists and Authors. In 2006, Rochelle founded Dream Keepers, a writing group for at-risk teens in the inner city of Milwaukee.
